This course begins with foundational safety knowledge and common tool identification. Topics include shop safety practices, personal protective equipment (PPE), and fire safety prevention. 

This module discusses how learning to operate small engines can keep you safe from hazards. It also covers how to maintain your own tools, machinery, and equipment, and the basics of assembling and disassembling small engines, which will save money and increase profit margins. 

This module explores how machines do work, looking at the relationship between work, energy and power. Learners will also distinguish between different methods of transmitting power and learn the basics of hydraulics. 

This module focuses on electrical safety, foundational concepts, circuit wiring, and troubleshooting. After completing this module, students will be able to safely wire and maintain electrical circuits and equipment properly to ensure their long life and safe operation. 

Because welding is a critical skill to have in many agricultural, construction and trades careers, this module covers various aspects of welding practices, including GMAW, SMAW, and oxy-acetylene cutting.

Being able to complete simple woodworking projects, do basic plumbing repairs and installation, and lay concrete are essential skills on any farm, ranch, or agricultural operation. Learners will understand how to identify different types of lumber, fasten joints, perform basic plumbing repairs, and lay concrete.
